The local goods
Posted by Chris on April 3, 2007 at 6:06 am | In Movies |Well, we’ve been up and running long enough, and I think it is time to let you have a small view into the local goodies that we are lucky to be able to call our “Backyard runs.”
While our backyard is not host to the the most talked about classic of classic runs in this state, we do have a few things to shout about: Clearwater creek is one of the steeper runs in the state and may arguably have the most boof moves in 2 miles than any other run in WA. The upper and lower Middle Fork start out with a few miles of continuous large boulder gardens that only settle down right at the mouth of a great class 4-5 gorge. Racehorse creeks infamous sandstone geology makes for a big day of slides and falls. The North Fork Nooksack, with its many glassy dunite boulders, has numerous sections of whitewater from class 5 Misto Canyon to everybodys favorite afterwork run on the Horseshoe bend and the Canyon.
After any one of these runs we usually head for some killer beers at the Northfork brewery or head to Grahams for some delicious fish tacos.
All these things combined is part of what enthralls everyone one of us in B’ham. Having a great paddling community is what makes it a lifestyle.
chris, that video is just plain sick.

Loved the flick, just wish I personally recognized more of the drops! That definitely helps get the stoke to get in the boat!
