Q: I’m new to the area, how do I meet other Bellingham Boaters?
A: The best bet is to come out to rolling sessions at the either the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center or Western Washington University’s Carver Gym. The evening sessions generally have a few whitewater paddlers, especially in the winter. Our community is relatively small, so everything is pretty informal. Introduce yourself and watch the gauges!
Q: Why don’t my comments show up?
A: Your first comment on BWW must be approved by one of the site admins before it will appear on the page. Please submit a comment and rest assured that if you are indeed a normal human, we’ll click it through. If you have posted comments before, but they are suddenly not showing up, please email us.
Q: How do I post events to the calendar?
A: Events posted to the calendar are written just like a regular post. Login and go to Site Admin to write a post. At the very bottom of the post composer page is a thing that lets you set the time for events. You just click on the calendar, click the start date, set the time by clicking and dragging, and do the same for the end date. You must set the “All Day” option (the box is on the right) for the formatting to work well. Put the correct time within the text of the post if it is not truly an all day event. After setting the correct date, be sure that the correct categories are set. The “Events” category gets set automatically when you enter the date, but you’ll have to uncheck the “Uncategorized” category (or choose the proper category), unless you want it to show up on the main page. After you’ve done this, click “Publish” like normal when you’ve finished your post.
